Public benefit objective
Stichting Rwenzori Foundation aims to promote sustainable development and improve social and economic opportunities for disadvantaged communities, particularly in western Uganda.
The Foundation supports locally led initiatives in the areas of vocational training, sustainable livelihoods, women’s empowerment, community wellbeing and responsible enterprise development.
All activities are undertaken for the public benefit and not for private gain.

Based in the Netherlands, the Rwenzori Foundation is governed by a four-person board with diverse professional backgrounds, skills and perspectives.
Together, Annelies, Karoline, Paul and Serge provide strategic direction, financial oversight and accountability. We share a commitment to ensuring that the Foundation operates transparently and that its work responds to the priorities and realities of the communities we support.

Foundation information
Rwenzori Foundation is an independent Dutch foundation established to promote sustainable livelihoods, equal opportunities, self-reliance and wellbeing. The Foundation has no profit-making purpose. Any funds received are used exclusively to support its statutory objectives.

Board
The Foundation is governed by a four-person board. Board members receive no remuneration for their work. Reasonable expenses incurred in carrying out their duties may be reimbursed. The Foundation currently has no paid director or employees.
